Ch. 27 · SEC / CFPB·Proposed·

Abolish DEI offices at financial regulators and race/sex appointment rules

Mandate says offices promoting DEI/racist policies at financial regulators should be abolished and regulations requiring appointments based on race, ethnicity, sex, or sexual orientation eliminated.

Mandate

Mandate Ch. 27 (Financial Regulatory Agencies) — SEC: discrimination based on immutable characteristics has no place in financial regulation; offices at financial regulators that promote racist policies (usually in the name of DEI) should be abolished; regulations that require appointments on the basis of race, ethnicity, sex, or sexual orientation should be eliminated; equal protection, equal opportunity, and individual merit should govern.

Undo plan

1) Restore lawful equal-opportunity and diversity-of-background recruiting without demographic quotas or appointment mandates. 2) Reestablish OMWI/diversity offices’ statutory functions where Congress required them; refocus on barriers to entry and exam fairness. 3) Rescind any rules requiring board/personnel demographic targets; keep voluntary disclosure optional. 4) Enforce equal protection against both racial preferences and racial exclusions in SRO listing rules. 5) Verify: OIG review of hiring criteria; absence of demographic appointment mandates.
